I'm new to LS1Truck.com forums and am sorry to bring up a probably worn out topic, but as of yet I haven't been able to find the answers to these questions...
HELP!
I just bought a brand new 04 Silverado Standard Cab 2 Wheel Drive with 5.3L.
I want to in the end have a Turbo Charged 6.0L in the vehicle. I've tried to get ahold of Parish, but he's sooooo busy spankin' peoples asses with his truck that I can't really get ahold of him. So any help you can provide would be great.
Here are some questions I have....
1) Do I have to swap trannies? Does the 4L65E Bolt to the 6.0 and handle the extra power? Or do I need to Swap to the 4L80E?
2) Will the 5.3L Harness and computer plug up to the new 6.0?
3) Since this will be a turbocharged vehicle I obviously want a little lower compression. I've heard that the LQ4 is 9.2:1 C/R and that the LQ9 is 10.5:1 C/R.
If that is true I want the LQ4 based solely on the compression, but at the same time is it true that the LQ9 has better heads (as in closely resembling Z06 Corvette Heads) ?
4) Could Somebody post that list of everything needed to do this swap?
It would be greatly appreciated.
