    Headers

I am looking at getting some LT's for my 2000 silverado. Which ones are better and are the armor coated headers really worth the extra money? Will the painted ones work or will they just rust apart after a couple years?

Most of the guys on here run painted pacesetters and I plan on getting some in the future.

Painted or coated really depends on where you live. If you live somewhere where they salt the roads coated is the only way but if you live in South Ga like me painted will more than likely outlast the truck...

Even the coated ones can get surface rust. Get painted, unless you like the way the coated looks.

The coated also help keep the heat in and keep EGT's up. I would say they're worth the extra money.

And if it were me I wouldn't get painted or coated, I would get stainless.

Well for the money and since I don't really want an all out race truck the stainless just isn't in the budget right now.. Thanks for the info guys. I'm still new and learning.

to be totally honest ,i thought i got lucky with the coated ,but after 2 years thayre peeling down by the collector.and i even wrapped mine, with header wrap after a year.painted always peel and rust up.and stainless arent worth the money as far as im concerned.my stainless gibsons turned black in a week, and rusted in 2 months.pic of the draw.if money is the issue ,id say painted.they all have downfalls.
