new cam new times not sure what I expected

hello all, first a bit of history; my trucks a 68 SWB Chevy I installed a stock 5.3 and a TB converter with a Nelson tune Last year I ran a
    2.19 60 ft
    9.39 at 75 MPH 1/8th
    12.28 at 83 MPH 1000 ft
    14.62 at 90 MPH 1/4
    I installed a LPE GT2-5 cam a 221/221/561/561 -112 and springs
I got sticker tires (Toyo Proxes) where I had 10 year old tires before and a posi. I also canged exhaust from 2.25 duels with old turbo mufflers to 2.5 with spintec mufflers and a cross over pipe
    and of course a retune.
    my new numbers are
    2.08 60 ft
    8.99 at 79 MPH 1/8th
    11.72 at 87.9 MPH 1000 ft
    13.95 at 94 MPH 1/4
I was hoping for better? Was I expecting too much or do these numbers look about right? looking at the numbers side by side they look better there doesn not seem to be much I can do with this setup.
The temp was about the same on both and the times last night were in about 68 degree weather and low humidity seemed about perfect.
any thoughts or help would be great...

I'd say that's really really good for a mild 5.3 combo N/A. What gears do you have?

you dropped over half a second in the 1/4...thats not bad for just swapping cams (pretty much), get gears and you will be much happier!!

I drive the truck quite a bit so I will probably stay with the gears for now anyway. I am not sure of the weight but I think around 3900 is typical for these trucks.
Thanks for the confirmations I guess I was just hoping for more. Maybe time to step up to nitrous. I will have to save up for that. I am sure that would help
    Thanks

I would get the actual weight of the truck. If it is 3900lbs with you in it these times are a bit off in my opinion. If it is closer to 4300-4400 race wieght these are about right on.

I agree with HIC. Those are good times, but if you get your 60 down a little more you should definately hit a better time. Arent most of the body pieces on your 68 steel? I would assume your truck is fairly heavy
