    Alamo Raceway?

Has anybody heard of Alamo raceway? A friend told me it was an old drag strip on the west side of San Antonio, but it's been closed down for a while. He said there was talk of it being re-opened. It's a lot closer to me than SAR and less hassle to get to.

I went there a few times when I was in high school. Small, ghetto and lots of mosquitoes. But not bad i guess

I remember that place... Also a circle track next to it. I had allot of fun there, when I was a kid. I saw a chevy station wagon with an open diff(one wheel peel) run a mid 12 second 1/4. The crew held on to the rear bumper to help do a burn out!!! Man those were the days.

if they do reopen, its gonna take a ton of money, remodeling and repaving to get it drivable. the return road sucked. my 94 z bottomed out bad there. at night the rails (dragsters) would throw sparks as they where being towed back!

Haha...What up Gene? Ain't seen you for a while. Looks like you got a nice truck going there. I'm still messin' with my slow ass black truck...I'm really close to just pullin' the motor out and giving the truck away. I may go with a BBC in a smaller truck.
