    iam looking for info on what kind of gear i will need OR want for in town driving on a 00 chevy 4.8 ext cab auto trans with 20's tire is 255/35/20 i was lookng at geting a 8.5 .410 gear set up is it hard to put in and how much does a set up run .... and as far as the eng all i have is a hypertechIII , k/n drop in , after market muffler......... NEXT mod will be nos (wet ) and a nelson tune

    Guy here in DFW area does rear ends for $400 including GM gears.
    And I don't know your tire dia off hand but if it's more than 30" you
    really do wany 4.10 if it's under 30" maybe 3.73.

    to buy the gears themselves is only lke 200 bucks. but the install can be a pita if you have never done it. i would gladly pay 400 to have the gears and the install done.
    01 ecsb stepside. best 1/4 14.6 at 92 mph.

    mine was 1100 for an eaton and gear purchase/install...
    still waiting...

    id go 3.90s your tires are only 26-27 inches tall maybe 373s with 410s i think you might finish the quater in od
    old set up: 2002 chevy 5.3, procharger 12lbs boost, asm headers, ls1 edit, flames, 20inch budniks

    New Set up: 2004 chevy 5.3 ext cab, 12 inch twisted suspension lift, 36's, exhaust.
    future mods: 150-200 shot, ls1 edit, air intake, stall, 5.13 gears, 12s or bust
