alright, well im pulling out the tranny to install the shift kit(tranny needs to be dropped becasue its a full spring shift kit) and im installing a corvette cervo so the tranny won't blow once i install the radix. I figured since i'll have the tranny out might as well get a torque converter, i was going to go with a yank but a local parts guy told me with the power i'll be making with the radix (which i figure to be in the 400's) i need the upgrade yank which Tbyrne is selling for $889(pro truck). there regular one is $739.
I have also looked at TCI, TCS, and PI.

    PI: $729.99
    TCI: $464.99
    TCS:$529.99

Do i realy need the upgrade? and which is the best converter?

Well you want a converter with Antiballoon plates, I don't think the smaller stall Yanks have them. Antiballoon keep the converter from swelling under load...not a good thing. Upper end converters have them.

I'd get a used PI. They sell for about $400 typically. If they are less than 2 years old you can get a free restall to what you want and for $300 more you can get a multi lockup clutch installed also.

PI is my No 1 choice in converters. Yank does well too but they have LOTS of problems in customer service...not what I want in a performance company. PI is just a sweet converter.

Oh I'd also go with the billet intermediate and overdrive servos. The billet intermediate holds ~35% more than the 'Vette one and the OD holds ~50% greater than the OE one. There is no 'Vette OD servo.

I like my 3200 yank stall, and it seems to be holding up just fine.

for your truck, i'd at least get a 3000, pi and yank seem to be proven.

    good luck,

I love my TT3000 behind my RADIX.

I don't think I would trade it for anything. You shouldn't have to drop the tranny for a shift kit. The servo's will help, but if your doing a RADIX, and a torque converter, you better get deeper into that tranny than just a shift it and servos. TRUST me ..... I know ... all to well.
