    Olympics

I dunno if anyone has been watching night and day like I have. But this has been one amazing olympics so far. and track and field hasnt ever started yet!!

    Just to recap:

    - PHELPS.... one amazing SOB. Watching that guy compete is insane. He is a maniac. Hes got one more relay to pass up mark spitz. I hope he can do it.

    - USA bball.. take on spain this mornign at like 9pm central. They have been so damn dominating its unreal. They are definately on a mission.. lol

    - everything else, gymnastics, vball, soccer.. well we are kicking ass at that also.

btw if anyone gets a chance to watch the track and field as the some of the finals start today. On sunday one of my friends is running in the 1500 semis sunday morning. Leonel Manzano from the University of Texas. He is originally from marble falls TX, and I raced him in middle school and high school. So im rooting for him to take it all the way to the podium this year.

Im skeptical about his ability and how fast he is. The other night in the semis he managed to shut it down about 20-30m before the finish and still run like what a 9.8. Unheard of. The fastest men shut it down around there and can barely get to 9.9. I dunno... just dont be surprised if he comes up with positive tests lol

Yeah--US is doing well..all except for the little bitch sports...like table tennis. All the badass sports, we are cleaning house.

That Bolt dude as ridiculous in the 100m. That bitch is 6'-5'' tall--and still wasted everyone.

US men's 400m hurdles went 1-2-3. And the BMX stuff is sweet too. That guy from Lativia is good...

Im still really skeptical about Bolt. but hey he could just be a freak of nature. We really arent performing well in track like I thought we would. Our 1500m guys choked and lagat didnt even make it out.

One of my friends that goes to UT that ran the 1500 got dead last. but hten again its really hard to run a 335 every other day when your personal best before the olympics is like a high 340.

Hopefully they start making up some of the slack bc I want to keep staying ahead of china in the medal count

I don't care who you are, 3:35 in the 1500m is ridicuous. Last Monday when I was at the gym, I wanted to see if I could still run a sub 5 minute mile. I had one of my trainer friends time me--I ran 800m of warm up and then did the timed mile. I finished with a 4:48. I did the calculations--and that averages 12.48 mph for a mile. I was happy to know as an old balding guy, that I could still do a sub 5 minute mile. I was damn near death afterwards--and there is NO WAY I could imagine trimming another minute off that. But then again, I guess that is why they are Olympians and I'm not.
