    6.0/4l80e swap

I picked up a well used 6.0 to swap into my 68swb truck. Plans are to keep things simple (mild) & the truck is used for work as much as it is for play.

So..... Since it most likely won't see over 5,500rpms, I'll reuse the 317 heads & stock intake since the gains are minimal vs cost to upgrade. The truck will get some 1.75 ~ 1.875 headers w/2.5" true duals + has a 12bolt w/3.73.s & 29" tall rear tires.

I looked @ a couple of low-to-mid range power cams from known manufacturers trying to match recommendations given by site members but nothing matched exactly. I found some Crane grinds: p/n 1449561; Trk, SUV, RV; 216/224, .551/.551, 115lsa. Does this sound better than stock w/the balls to still tow a load?

Those that offered cam specs: Any specific manufacturers grinds or combos I should consider?
    Thanks in advance.

Well I fabbed up my LSx to sbc adapter plates today.

Using the dimensions linked within the 'p/n's sticky', I made some adapter plates (I looked @ buying some but I'm not sure which type I'll wind up needing). I didn't want to buy 2 sets not knowing if they'll even work @ all so I made some w/both the factory sbc location as well as the 1" set-back location.

I didn't drill the holes for the sbc mounts yet, just scribed the steel plate where the holes would go. I'll install the drivetrain & see which set of holes offers the best fit. Once I know, I'll finish them up.

I did find the outer exhaust manifold bolts on the drivers side head were sheared off flush @ the head. Is this a common problem? Now I get to try & drill out those puny little pieces w/o damaging the heads....

Not much response to my post/questions in my thread starter. Txarkitekt, what manufacturer offers that cam grind you recommended in the 'newbie check-in' section?
