    Newb from AZ

I've looked over at ls1teck and a few other places but it seems this is one of the only sites that does anything to the 5.3

My truck is not done yet, but it's a 2000 s10 with a 5.3 and built 4l60e. the engine and tranny were in it when I got it. tranny is built, and it has a 2500 stall. I have heads on the way and am adding a cam, and when they come out in a few months I will be adding longtubes and an ls6 intake. I'm looking for an 8.5 rear or a ford 8.8. and it needs a rad and some wiring finished before its done, but it should be done by july.

I'm in tucson btw for any of you az guys.

Welcome to LS1truck man! You truck should be a nice little project. I am sure there have been others out there that have done a LSX swap into a S-10 before... What is the big deal about the radiator? Can you not use the stock radiator and throw on a set of LS1 fans? I would think that would be enough to cool a 5.3L...

I'm definatly not the only one to do this swap, which is a good thing since now there is a ton of info about doing it.

my problem with the rad is that I live in Arizona, and most swap rads wont really cut it in the 110 summer heat we get out here. but I think I found a few that will work, just need to order it. its on hold for a week or two till more funds are available. and I have flexelites for it already so fans arent an issue.
