    Attn:Allen

Left a message for you to either Pm me or call please. I want to see what settings you did on my last program. The reason being is my tranny building gave me the settings that my tranny needs to be set at. It needs to be 15 to 20 % tq management. The shift pressures need to be stock. The shift timing above 90 degrees needs to be .3 seconds. You can reply on this thread. Thanks man, I know your busy.

I just left this in case he couldnt get a hold of me today. Fridays are always swamped for me since I have a fleet of over the road trucks I take care of.

    Hi Alex,

Where did all these settings come from? On a built transmission the line pressure gets set to stock, shift times are at zero, and you don't want any TM left in the parameters.
I've been tuning transmissions for a while now for flt and this is how I set them up, it's a tried and proven setup.
Even if your trans only had a shift kit and servo, i still treat the settings the same as a built trans.

BUT, if you want them setup like that I can, but I don't typically do it that way. With your mods, TM is going to be noticable, with a shift time of .3 secs (which is almost more than stock) you're going to feel a small delay, but yes, I agree, the line pressure needs to be stock.
So, I need to send out a retune since all your trans had was minor upgrades.

Give us a call and Melissa can take your retune order for the built trans.

    thanks,
    allen

It was built by Jerry's transmisions. They said it had the best of the best. It was the tranny built for sprayed99 's truck. Maybe he can chime in here and tell all what it has. I wasnt knocking on your tranny tune at all. I was just going by what my tranny builders specs are. Please dont take it as a insult to your tuning knowledge for it wasnt intended to be. This one is a 4l65e as to where my 4l60e i took out was basically stock except for a corvette servo. My stall is also a yank 2800 and as where my hughes was a 2500. The reason i ask is i spent alot of money on the trans and i wanted everything to be to spec since i can not afford to put money at another tranny is all. I will double check again with him to make sure i have given you the correct info.

Not at all Alex, I was just wondering why those specs are required. Whatever specs they want, I'll do it.

Ya, I'd like to hear why, that's all.

Im not gonna say why Allen because all its going to do is start a whole crap load of problems....

I agree with the 0 shift times..I was thinking about the TBSS tune on a built unit. also please add 15% of TM back to the unit.

    BTW I need my core.

No it won't just tell us.
I was just thinking maybe you can educate some of us on why TM needs to be added. Since a programmer for our trucks became available, all everyone talks about it is how TM pulls timing and limits airflow. TM isn't our friend.
TM didn't limit power to older transmissions, one of the reasons GM added it to vehicles was to prolong the life of a stock transmission, but a built one can take it.
Actually, a stock one can take it for quite a while as well. Most of the aggressive drivers out there opt for zero shift times, zero TM, and higher line pressure on a stock trans, and they hold for a long time.

Also, the trans you built for me last year is still holding (yes, i haven't forgot and really appreciate it, you really helped out that customer) and that truck has a turbo at 10psi and slightly built engine.

I'm curious because I purchased that trans from you and if there's something I need to change, I just want to know why?

Sure, the core is here, come on down, I've been saving it for you.

thanks, and no harm is being done,

    allen
