What are your future plans for your truck? Do you eventually want to go with a turbo or supercharger? Or are you wanting to go with just motor and maybe some spray? It makes a difference in the stuff you will need.

If you are going with an STS, then you don't want to get headers. I would look into getting a trans cooler, shift kit (may need to get built tranny later with STS), and definitely a Nelson tune for now.

keep your stock manifolds, they will hold the heat better...the money saved start buying hard parts that are known to break...i.e. G80 and tranny

IF you do want some headers dont go with the mid-lengths you might as well just spend the little extra $ and go with long tubes for the complete gain out of it

Eh, go with some Pacesetter ceramic coated Long Tubes and wrap them. Make sure to wrap them BEFORE you put them on...
