Thread: how much horsepower SHOULD i have?

    Question how much horsepower SHOULD i have?

    ive seen all kinds of reviews on the stock 99 vortec 5.3 and it seems like they all say something different. from what you guys know, how much bhp/tq should i have with my current setup?

    flowmaster (i assume about +5 to 10 hp)
    k&n cold air intake (i assume another +5 to 10 hp)
    1999 Silverado, 5.3L Z71, Flowmaster Exhaust Kit, K&N FIPK Cold Air Intake, American Racing Tailgunner Rims

    Coming Soon: Pacesetter long tube headers/full exhaust, tune

    250ish range....if you really want to know go to the events and gatherings forum....we are having a dyno day on April 5th....come on out

    i got the same set up

    215HPs to the tires wouldnt be suprised to see 195HPs to the tires since its a 4x4. ive had mine all over dynos and they dont push what the factory says they will and 90% of the time your disapointed.

    what do you guys think ill end up with when i get my longtubes/full exhaust and tune?

    prob a 30 hps is a safe guess but who knows you might crank out some more.

    Yeah - about 20% drivetrain loss plus your mods would put you at about 250.

    Yeah, 240-250 does sound logical--since it is a 4WD truck. After LT's, ORY, and tune, you should be looking at 280-290.
