    New Noise...Driving Me nuts

Well i had the coolant flushed at the local GM dealer, because it was 0 degrees outside, and i wasnt planning on freezing. They flushed it out and found that the heater core was somewhat plugged so that would explain the really poor heat i had. But now when im drving anywhere from 1000 to about 4000 rpm, i get this noise coming from what sounds like the dash of almost a small burnout sound or a belt squeal.

What could it be? And i havent lost any coolant, all the fluids are good.
And i have a brand new main belt, A/C belt, and both idler pullies have been replaced about a year ago.

I also have a horrible almost metal on metal sound when its cold out that goes away after a minute or so? Alternator?

Could they have damaged something when they flushed it?

    thanks for the help guys

yes the coolant is properly filled and i havent seen it move since it was filled up, and the truck warms perfectly fine, and doesnt over heat. So if it is the water pump, it will most likely fail soon? Are those fairly easy to replace?

i have no where to work but in a parking lot.

    thanks

If you take the belt of and turn the water pump by hand you can tell if the bearings are going bad.

take the belt off and see if it's got a film inside the grooves, coolant will stay in a belt for a while. They probably made a mess when they did the flush, you could try a little brake cleaner in the grooves to clean the belt or just replace the belt.Check the pulleys as well for any coolant residue.

Yeah, if you get coolant on anything under the hood, it will cause something to squeal. And all of these issues you are having now have stemmed from the coolant flush? I am 100% certain that coolant got on a belt or moving part under hood. The squeal goes away after the belt or moving part warms up...yeah, its coolant...
