    Maf

Okay just bought a screened one since mine is descreened. My question is i keep hearing that it being descreened will cause problems but I have not seen any. But since I am going to start doing other stuff to my truck and keep hearing that I need a screened one i bought one so will i see any differents or is it just on some trucks that it hurts. Or is it later on when you try and tune it that it causes problems? Thanks

Mine is descreened also and i have never seen any problems but some people say your truck will run better with a screened one.

also, since you got a mail order tune, the truck will run like the tuner intended.

Yeah---good call on getting a stock one. Even though you may have not been having any issues with it, having that descreeened MAF is like having an open wound. Even though it is ok now, it will eventually become worse...

Some people have problems descreened some dont. It might get worse if it does it must happen after two years and about 80,000 miles cause thats how long mines been like that. Still got warranty left so im just gonna keep runnin it like that.

For our trucks, a TB spacer is worthless. No wait...I take that back...it does make a cool whistling sound that makes it sound like a small turbo...but that is about it. Don't waste the time or money on one. Go ahead and have your stock unit ported and polished or get an 80mm BBK...

+1 i agree with Tyler. Get it ported, or get a 80mm. here is the lowdown on mods.
    1. plug wires are good for looks, stock wires have seen 11 second 1/4 mile times without issues.
    2. dont get shorty, or mid length headers. Get Longtubes. Shorties dont give you anything.
    3. if you get a shift kit and servos, be sure you get a retune before installing... too much load on tranny.
    4. never use a hand held.
    5. to make big power, you will need forced induction or Nitrous. Or spend allot on all motor mods.
    6. dont buy tornado's, horsepower chips, fuel magnets, tb spacers, or octane boosters. if you want higher octane fuel, buy it.
    7. dont let Tyler talk you into '' visiting him '' he will try to touch you.
    8. dont listen to dodge guys, they run tb spacers and mufflers and call it having allot done to the motor.
    9. realize that you are the under dog in a race. Cars, hemi's, bikes, even ricers think you are slow, but thats the fun part when you are pullin away from them. (except the bikes)
    10. hope you have a thick wallet, patience, and enjoy the ride.
oh yeah... I almost forgot... the 4l60e will crap out eventually so plan on spending a grip on a level 5 from FLT, or a 4l80e.
