    gearin question

so i have a 4.8 ext cab 4x4. 4l60e tranny and im puttin 33's on it. she has 32's right now and it dogs her so when i go 33's im gonna regear. i know the formula old tire/new tire times new gear equals true ratio but. straight up what would be a good gear with those tires and my little engine. im thinkin 4.10s but i drive to cali alot. dont want to sacrafice to much mpg and she def needs some help towing. i have a 18 ft bayliner and it struggles up and down hills. so what do you think?

For what you've got, 4.10s would be the best choice. You will get maybe 1-2 worse mpg switching to the new gears. In-town driving mpg might get better, but you will see the lower mpg numbers on the freeway...

Yeah I hav a 2wd and my truck came with 32's and I have 3.23 gears and just switching to a smaller tire made a world of difference. plus not havin or tires made allot of traction issues go away. If ya wanna stay on your game in the 1/4 Id get 410's or 456's Cowl327 (Dale) has a set for sell for cheap... Id hit him up... my 2 cents.

Well, if you only care about the HWY mpg, then stick to the 3.73's... Anything higher will yield you horrible HWY mpg numbers. I would rather do some good performance mods versus trying to do the gears...
