allen, congrats...you must be very heppy! thats a very promising time. do you still have the 31" farm tires on it? what were your otehr times or did you have any other runs? beat hay hauler?

and my buddy brought up the idea about headers, why wouldnt some LS1 Camaro headers work? they are supposed to be routed the same as the shorty style stock manifolds?

Thanks guys, I'm very happy with the times, I know if it were winter time, that time would drop about another 1.5 tenths, if you go to the track all the time like i do, you'll know exactly what i mean. just warm weather will affect your times, but add the muggy air and humidity, most guys run about .2 tenths slower on those days. Unfortunately, i'll never know, because by that time i'll have more mods and will never know.

I'm running an Auburn posi, with 4.10 GM gears, 28" ET MT, stock engine components, cold air intake (well under hood temp), and pcm tuning, daul exhast, and Flowmasters,

I've been running consistent 13.8's and 13.9's since the rearend was setup, so i was a little dissappointed with the times, hell i ran 13.9's on farm tires and a peg leg with 3.42's.
Now i'm seeing the gains. I leaned out my a/f ratio to 13.1, it seems to like that now, it used to like 12.7, but after i blew away the previous code...

You can probably run shorty heads from a truck setup, but imo i wouldn't waste my time with shorties, they a just a tad better than the stock 6.0L manifolds i run and i don't think i would see enuff gain for 300-500$ for them.
Hay hauler wasn't out there, he called and said he was scared and didn't want to get beat anymore, lol, jk,

My plans right after the ac bracket are to start building my headers, i'll call hooker or someting and get the right combination and tube size, maybe step down tubes. I'll weld a bunch of mandrel bent tubes together to build my equal length headers, i'm going with dual 3" exhaust and elminating my cats, I think i'll go with borla mufflers this time, this bitch is going to be loud.

Thanks GMC, after the snap on event when i adjusted some stuff and dropped .2 tenths, i was thinking more was in there,

after we get the ac going, i'm going to start on my headers, and new dual exhaust, i think that will be good for a few hp.

    thanks,

Hey way to go that's a great time. So, you'r making your own headers for your truck. Is this hard and how is the cost going to be different from purchasing from a company.

He is making them b/c he drives an older truck, plus you can only find shorties for the truck. The shorties dont flow too much better than the 6.0 stock manifolds, well, not enough to spend around 400-500 bucks for some. So he is going to make some LT headers for his truck. Custom headers from someone like Kooks or Doug Thorley can run over a grand.

He has an LS1 in his truck right. Doesn't anyone make LT headers for the LS1. Also, is he actualy making them himself or is he going to a company to custom build them for him.

Yes, they make them for the camaro.. but i dont see them fitting b/c of the differences in the chassis.. he is making them himself. Buying an LS1 flange and going from there.
