    Stock fuse block

Anyone have any experience with using the stock fuse block and harness on your swap? It is cheaper for me to tap my truck into the new fuse block instead of the other way around. If anyone has done this please let me know how before I fry something. Thanks

Actually using the stock fuse box makes it a lot easier. You'll just need to get power to the main lug and then wire up the require wires to the swapped over fuse box. It's been a while for me so I don't remember all the wires and I also ended up swapping in a 03 dash with 02 wiring. I still think it's only like 5-10 wires though. Good luck!

    I figured it out

It was actually pretty simple once I bought the chiltons for the donor vehicle. Now I just need to clean up the rest of the wires and make it look like it belongs there.

    power to fuel pump

I just have one obstacle left, the fuel pump. If i hook it direct the pump turns on but if I hook it to the drk green wire that (according to the manual) goes from the relay to the pump it will not work. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

put that dkgreen wire to a relay!
i used a factory harness, repinned that black connector to make it the fuse box. it accepts the small fuses and the factory relays.
check out my swap in my putfile acct.

as far as the fuel pump you can go aftermarket out of tank, or grab a 87 fuel sender, and a EP241 (ac delco) fuel pump. if i remember correctly it had a 45-50 psi running... and i forgot the other numbers, but its what i have and running.

I don't remember what I posted in my swap thread, but you may want to looks there. Thread's called 5.3L LM7 in OBS Silverado (or something like that). I'm terribly sleepy now, and about to shut laptop down. My thread has picks of the underhood fuse block, but dunno about wiring schematics. AllData helped me MORE than Chilton's or Haynes manuals. Cheap investment. I'd have to look at the truck tomorrow to tell ya exactly how my EXTERNAL fuel pump is wired. I will say that I pull 12V power from the battery (point on fuse block), and the signal from the underhood fuse block to. I bypass the OEM relay to and aftermarket relay that came with the pump (ProCharger kit). Found a good ground point, and badda bing, badda boom. Supplied fuel. An internal pump assembly would be better, but an external pump work VERY well. Just don't drain the tank on "E" (which I don't go lower than an 1/8th of a tank).

    Good luck!
