Just curious what you thought about the performance of the srt10...

13.8 in the 1/4?? seems a little slow for a v10... im sure it has potential of running a lot faster modded but. probably puts down a hella lotta torque down low... like to see one run against a lightning...

I'm not impressed at all. Like you said, it has great potential, but from the factory and all the hype, I'd expect a little more. I'm sure with a few upgrades and slicks, it would be a 12 sec truck.
Everyone keeps comparing it to the lighting, I don't see why, the L is slow imo, at the track, I continously see stock L's run low 14's. I've never seen one break into the 13's stock. Now you add a few mods and it's a 13 sec truck. Plus it's got a supercharger. I know manufacturers have their own way of making HP, but come on! a decent sized v8 and a supercharger from the factory and it's only good for a 14 sec 1/4 with all the hype they give it?????
I'm more impressed with the SRT10 than I am with the L.

GMC needs to hurry the heck up and release that special edition reg cab 6L, it won't have a sc, but I bet it gives the L a good run, for a lot less $$$.

Chevy should release a special edition 454. That would smoke all trucks on the market.

That SRT10 is to damn heavy. Its as heavy as our Extended cabs in regular cab form.
The rado and sierra are very light compared to both the L and SRT.

I've seen two at dealerships, they look tough. Salesman offered to race title for title, but salesmanager said no. A one race deal, huge and a car salesman tring to hook that 6speed 500hp shortbed, I'd have to try.

They are so slow b/c of traction. Having 500tq down low, you're not gonna hookup without suspension mods. Throw some slicks and i bet it gains a LOT.

As for the L... basically is a really low compression engine (making low power without a supercharger) with a smaller supercharger (m112, the damn Grand Prix uses an M90), so that is why it doesnt make that much power.

seems like ford is stickin a supercharger on everything these days.

"ughh we can't make fast engines w/ good gas mileage like chevy, so lets stick a supercharger on it."

not saying thats the way it is, but i mean even the new Ford GT, has a supercharger on it. You'd think since its like fords super car, they'd do all muscle???

    just my opinion

there was a race in south La.. a week or so ago..its posted on dodgetrucks.org....the L lady won by .02 seconds i think 13.73 vs 13.75...the srt had like a 2.18 short time...with 22's im kinda sketchy on that one...but it walked the L down but still lost this was supposedly "stock for stock" but thats such a debateable word these days. it did trap like 104 i think in a hot and muggy environment, so give it a lil break in like the L's and take the paper filter outta there and with some better traction (imo i think they shoulda stopped @ 20's with performance trucks...i mean 20's+ and performance dont really go together.) i think they can do gobs better...12's with exhaust/intake maybe.

Its the cheapest way to make horsepower and if driven right. The l's can be nice trucks. They can haul ass for little money. There is package in a shop in town for like 1500, suppose to run 11's on slicks. I havent used it/or know anyone that has. The downside to the L is, nothing is forged, they needed forged internals like the Cobra's have. They way, you can throw more on them and not have worries. As it is, you can stick pulleys, but add any n2o and it goes boom. On the cobra, there are plent yof cars tunning ~16-18lbs on the eaton with shots, no problems. (oh and they still dont get good mileage. Cobra's get around average of 11mpg, L's around the same. I know ppl with both and that is their average at "easy" driving)

The GT40 has a NICE supercharger. Its a twin screw eaton. A lot better/efficent over the m112. The GT40 is also a 5.4 dohc motor, basically a Cobra R motor with a twin screw on it. (but for the 110K+ price tag, i'd take a used Ferrari 360 Modena anyday.
