    im a little worried now.

ok i just bought this cam for the silvy. 228/232 .588 .595 110lsa. i heard a clip of it and it sounds amazing. nice choppy idle. but is it gonna be drivable. i do have a 2500 stall. and I'll get tuned for it immediately. its gonna go one with a set of ls1 66cc heads. this was a daily driver till about a month ago when it started going from one shop to the next. but i would like to get back to driving it. i dont care if i cant tow with it anymore.

the clip is in my truck. It was a stock 5.3. You may think about a bigger stall though. It will drive fine with a good tune.

That is a pretty healthy cam for the 5.3L. The numbers look good for a FI cam except for the LSA. From wat I know, you shouldn't go lower than a 112 at the most for FI. Your TC will help out some, but it might be a little thin down low. Just make sure your CR doesn't get too high with those new heads... You may be getting close to 10.2:1 CR or higher. Sure, that isn't that much higher than the stock numbers, but you don't need to be raising the CR with FI and the new cam you got. Billy is correct, with a good live tune, it should run pretty well...

Same cam I have, but in my 408.

    Drives fine when it runs.

If he is FI, then it is not a good cam for it.

with the larger combustion chamber i will be lowering my compression, right? the ls1's are 66cc and the 5.3 are 61cc.
damn it i knew it. i was thinking that that much overlap might not be good. sh!t
