I am gettin ready to install my walbro 255 FP. How do I get it to fit in the factory bucketI'm confused. It's smaller than oe pump.

ya its smaller ,drill 2 holes in the side of the bucket and use a zip tie too hold in place.

If I remember right, mine came with a foam sleeve that it slid into, then I put all of that into the bucket.
is that the thing that goes on the bottom of the pump?

No mine fit around the entire body of the pump and all the way length wise of the body.
