    Ls2

ok this may be a stupid question but a tbss ls2 spins to something like 6500+rpm . what makes the ls2 exhaust tone sound so different from a regular 6L? also ive never heard if you can safely spin a 5.3 to 6500 if you had a cam to support the rpm range?

The LS2 exhaust note is different in a TBSS due to the exhaust plumbing..it's really tight in there... The LS2 in the SSR is rated at 395 hp, but the TBSS is rated at 391 hp because of the slightly more restrictive exhaust plumbing to the the space constraints... Yes, you can spin a 5.3 up to like 6800--even 7100 RPM's, but you need to make sure that you have the right cam specs, hardened pushrods, high performance valve springs, correct ratio rockers, stronger stud bolts, etc. to handle the higher RPMs... Having a nice set of forged internals makes it easier too...
