    exhaust setup questions ?

alright ive got a 6.0 lq4 with int ,supercharger .snow meth ,cam ,3.73 etc.i only have shorties with cat back right now .ive been getting parts slowly as i see recommendations on here .heres my plan tell me what you think .i heard pacesetters with dyynomax straight throughs were too loud .ive got pacesetters going true dual iplan on using dyno bullets no cats mind you ,into x pipe then into dynomax straight through mufflers all 2.5 inch outbehind the rear tires my pref there though . im using the bullets with the idea of quieting down a little ,do you think ill lose any hp.?or will it really quiet it down ?is it worth doing?all opinions accepted im doing this weekend so its not too late for changes .although i do have these parts already.im i in the right order with the layout .oh is there any unexpected things i should be aware of with install.i think i have too have allen disable my rear o2s ,and my a/f will be off alittle .are my front o2s gonna fit etc ,i guess you get the idea.HEEELP ME HERE ,THANKS.JUST DONT WANT ANY F,UPS .WANT TOO GO SMOOTH .

Damn Mr. Impatient... Calm down there, Turbo!

Ok, a few opinions: LT's and an x-pipe with no muffs will be pretty damn loud. The only thing about exhaust and the resonating HUM is if you dump--anywhere from the headers to the end of the tail pipes. Some people say dump them after the rear axle, but you will still get the annoying drone. Adding Dynomax bullets will not cut back on your horsepower at all. If it does, you will not be able to feel it because it may cut back 1 or 2 hp... Mufflers are designed to do one thing: Quiet down exhaust noises. Nothing else. Some say that it helps with back pressure to "create" more horsepower/torque... Each performance muffler is going to give you a good sound with excellent flow. Have you ever been in a truck that has dumped exhaust? If not, I'd say go for a ride and see what you think. Some people say having dumped exhaust is about as cool as driving a Jeep Wrangler around: It's cool for about 3 days, then it gets annoying. Some really like the sound and it never gets annoying to them. Others say it is annoying---and have to worry about what the wifey says, and have to worry about the kids... Do what you want---since you mentioned DynoMax Bullets, go ahead and do those with LT's, no cats and the x-pipe with tips behind the rear tires. That "sounds" like a pretty good setup...

As for the O2 bungs...the front bungs on the LT's will fit the O2 sensors just fine...just make sure to have Allen disable the rears--it's no biggie for him to do that. You may also want to consider driving to Allen's shop and see about him doing a live tune to make sure he gets the A/F ratio just right...

Dynomax Bullets are so close to running straights, it almost seems pointless to me. I have owned two vehciles with "straights"(no muffler) and I have heard many vehicles with Bullets and there is really not much difference.

IMHO, If you want it LOUD, then just try straights for awhile. What do you have too lose? If its too loud you can add mufflers later. I ran LTs, Hpipe, and straight pipes and some nice dual tips out the back of my vette for several years and it sounded great to me. It really screams, its really loud and it gets comments like "what kinda exhaust is that?" To which my response is, po'boy 'high flow' exhaust, chop off mufflers and cat and add exhaust tubing.

If it were not for moving to a neighborhood that frowned heavily on my exhaust ("racket" they called it?), I would still have straights on the vette. Now I have stock mufflers back on with cutouts installed in the bend just before the pipe enters the mufflers. So now I have the best of both worlds, bone stock quite mufflers (which really choke down the cam) and wide open.

Straight through type mufflers will quiten down the exhaust and remain highflow by design. Thats my recommendation if you go with a muffler.

    Good Luck

I have 1 inlet/2 outlet 40 series Flowmaster Dumped on now....

I was thinking about redoing my exhaust setup...by running my Lt's and Off-road Y-pipe into a Delta Flow 1 chamber Flowmaster Dumped..

I think it would be louder then what i already have right now..

Yeah, good thinking stngh8r... Start out with the most basic set up so that if you don't like it, you can start adding components to it until you get it where you want it...

ok i guess i misenterpeted you guys ,what my plan is to do pacesetters ,true dual ,into dynomax bullets then add an x pipe ,THEN INSTALL 2 MORE STRAIGHT THROUGH REG DYNOMAX MUFFLERS.with tailpipes dumped behind the rear tires .i didnt want to be too loud cause i heard l/ts with dynomax straight through mufflers would be too loud .so i thought i would add the bullets too resonate, xtra sound from longtubes soo 4 muffs total if longtubes with straight through dynomax muffs were too loud .or am i being over zelios and just leave room for bullets if the reg setup is too loud ?and is the order in wich i plan ok as far as l/ts then bullets or not THEN X then muffs.like put x before the muffs correct?
