if you have an awd silverado SS can you switch out the trans and T-case and stuff from a Z71. to make it a part time 4wd just a thought. I have found a pewter SS that i like alot and trade my truck in for it

You could do it, but with all of the wiring and computer issues you'd run into, it wouldn't be worth it...

Dude the AWD system is awesome. Awesome Awesome Awesome. I want to convert my truck from z71 to AWD. I drove a denali truck with it and let me tell you it is the shiznit. It does not matter the terrain or wet weather it is so much more stable. I would swap with ya if I knew how to change everything over. For me i think all i would need to do is get the right transfer case and unplug the electronics.

I use to work at a shop and did alot I mean alot of work the awd t-cases. PITA!!!! the viscus would go bad all the time. I like having a choice of 4wd or 2wd.That just me though.

Guess if you really wanted 2 couldnt you make a 2wd a 4wd? Haha. Than you would have the option of 2 or 4 in an SS.

in 06 awd was an option on the ss, just like u could get cloth in the ss trim.
