    torque converter

what would be the symtoms of a overheated torque converter?i havent check for bluish color on the converter, but i had a problem when moving from michigan to florida,it had a harsh shift 1st to 2nd and wouldnt go any where when it would try to downshift when going up hills,i had to get the valve body replaced, but im now still having some downshift problems sometimes when it gets hot.just wondering if bad converter would cause this when it gets hot.not emmisions, just had cats o2 sensors and egr replaced before the move.

The clutch in my converter was demolished and the paint on the converter still looked brand new. So lack of burn marks doesn't mean everything is ok inside...

It was chattering like crazy and wouldn't lock up. It was a gradual process...started small and kept getting worse.
