    Overkill?

    Would a 3/4 ton Duramax be overkill for a trailer like this?

    * 7X12 CUSTOM BUILT ENCLOSED TRAILER
    * REAR CARGO DOORS
    * RIGHT SIDE DOOR
    * DETRAILERS PATENTED CENTRAL VAC SYSTEM W/ 40' VAC HOSE
    * DOUBLE LEAF SPRING AXLES
    * CHROME WHEELS W/ CHROME CAPS/LUGS
    * TRAILER RATED TIRES
    * ROOF VENT
    * TONGUE MOUNT CHEMICAL JUG HOLDER OR DIAMOND PLATE STORAGE BOX
    * ELECTRIC BRAKES
    * BRAKE/TAIL/RUNNING LIGHTS
    * CHOICE OF EXTERIOR COLOR
    * (2) ALUMINUM STORAGE RACKS
    * FIXED JACK W/ WHEEL
    * SWING AWAY JACK W/ WHEEL
    * 6.5 HONDA PRESSURE WASHER ENGINE W/ LOW OIL ALERT
    * 2800 PSI @3GPM PRESSURE WASHER PUMP
    * HIGH PRESSURE HOSE REEL
    * 50' HIGH PRESSURE HOSE W/ BRASS QUICK CONNECT
    * SPRAY GUN/WAND W/ ADJUSTABLE PATTERN
    * 150 GALLON WATER TANK W/ STANLESS STEEL STRAPS
    * TANK DRAIN VALVE
    * 6.5 HP HONDA GENERATOR ENGINE
    * 3600 WATT GENERATOR HEAD

    btw. I should mention. My '92 might be sold by Saturday, so I'm planning on taking what I get from it and put it towards capital for a mobile detailing business.

    It would be...4500 lbs max.? IMHO, yes. A 5.3L 1/2 ton would do it, but not on an everyday basis. But it would be logical to use a 3/4 Duramax considering you would be driving a lot for the mobile detailing. You will get better mileage and the vehicle would handle the everyday hauling better. A 6.0 would handle it just as well, but your mileage would suffer over a Duramax.

    If it was up to me, and I had the funds to do so, A Duramax wouldn't be overkill for ANYTHING. I would use that thing to tow my two jetski's.

    Probably a little more than 4500 lbs. Considering 150 gallons of water weighs about 1,251 pounds, add to that all the chemicals, and miscellaneous equipment. So maybe 6000 lbs+ would be a good estimate.

    And a 5.3 was never in consideration.... Maybe an SS or VHO. But I can get an '04 2500 ecsb Duramax for about the same price.

    How much is that rig? I would say the Duramax. For everyday pulling a Duramax would handle that quite well.

    Uh, yup--DO IT!!! 62,700 miles? Good mileage for a diesel that is 3 years old. You seen it in person yet?

    I'd get a 4500 topkick and deck it out like the one in transformers.
