    upgrade ?'s

    Hey guys,

I am ordering a new cam, valve springs, pushrods and lifters for my ls1.

My main question is should I go with gm lifters or should I go with a set of comp?

My other question is what part number lifters and what part number for the pushrods?

    pushrods......7955-16 or 7638-16

3rd and final question, should I use my retainers and locks from my yellow springs?

    thanks in advance,

    Jarrod

There are a set of GM Cadillac racing lifters you should buy. They have lighter weight internals and will help you rev better with less chance of floating valves. I think they have ceramic internals but I could be wrong. Check out SDPC2000.com for a direct line on the lifters.

GM/Cadillac lifters = my recommendation GM Performance Parts Hydraulic Roller Lifter Set, 88958689

    Manley pushrods 7.4" long .080" wall http://www.sdparts.com/product/MAN25...yPushrods.aspx

Comp titanium retainers Comp Cams Titanium; Valve Spring Retainer, 754-16

Check to see if new keepers/locks come with the new retainers. Buy them if they don't.

Thunder racing 7.40" pushrods 99-PR7400 same as Comp Cams
Not sure of the PN for the Comp Cam PRs. You usually need the 7.40" rods but sometimes you need longer or shorter ones if the heads have had any work done to them.

Reuse the stock retainers if you want but the titanium retainers will let the valves work more efficiently and reduce the risk of floating.
