thinking of trading in the sub.

i want to get something a little newer, with less miles. i would love to get a TBSS but the wife wants third row seating. so there goes my dreams of a fast factory vehicle. and i have built the whole drivtrain on my sub. i like the thought of modding a new vehicle, but i dont like the thought of breaking a new vehicle. so i geuss i need a plan of attack so i can replace stuff before it breaks. so i need to figure out what breaks at what power level. and i also dont think my ancient sidemount will work on the gen4 engines. so any suggestions on vehicles.
also does anyone know of any cool options that arent public knowledge. i always watch these car shows and they talk about certain options that had to be special ordered on these old muscle cars. well i want to know about them.

You thought of a newer (06) Denali XL? They have the LQ9 (335 hp) in it. It has the 3 rows and has nicer creature comforts than your current Sub--plus it has the upgraded bling quotent. The LQ9 should be a good motor to build on, plus you can decontent your current Sub when you sell it and put those parts on the Denali XL...it would almost be a perfect swap...

yeah i probably will go 06 or newer, but maybe not an denali xl i think you can get third row in the regular denali, and i think we want to get bench seat so we can carry the same as the suburban. but then again i dont like how the NBS denali's all are AWD. i dont know if i like AWD. i want to choose 2 or 4.

A lot of people like the AWD capabilities, but I do agree with you, I want to switch between 2 and 4WD. Why not buy a Yukon and do a Denali front clip swap? Or buy a Tahoe and do an Escy front swap? It would be a fun project. Or do the opposite--buy a Denali and swap out the AWD transfer case for the Auto-trac set-up. I am sure it wouldn't be too complicated. It would mostly be wiring and PCM configuration???
