ok when i am lookin at cams I want a cam with some lope to it.
the question is the farther the LSA is the less lope the cam has?
cause i am lookin at some comp cams. I have seen some with 117 lsa and some with 112 lsa.
i need to know cause i dont want to blow some cash on a cam that i wont like.

lope will depend on LSA and duration. For the most part, just about anything you get on a 117 will not lope. On a 112, just about everything will lope. You can go to ls1sounds.com and you can hear just about anything you want. Keep in mind, everthing needs to be done in the right combo. If you get lets say a 224 112 cam, you will need a little higher stall and maybe gears to get the most out of it. You will see gains, but they will be at a higher rpm range. We just put a 228/232 .588 .595 110 cam in a truck. With no stall and the wrong gears, this would kill lower end. The customer is putting in a good size stall and 4:56 gears, so the cam will work great. You certainly dont need to do 4:56's, but it would need to have 3:73's or 4:10s.

the 222/224 .566 .568 112LSA will be perfect for your truck, you need a low LSA to get that heavy truck to launch alot better of the line....the 228/230 is more of a 6.0 cam, you would be overcamming your 5.3 with that one.

Sho' nuff. The 222/224 would be right on the money, plus the 112LSA will give it a nasty idle burp. Since you are heavier, you will need the lower intake and exhaust duration--that means you will get more power in the lower RPMs. You may also want to consider to put a few degrees of separation in the LSA. If you put +3 degrees of advanced separation in the LSA, that will make your power come in a little sooner=lower RPMs. Comp will custom grind it for you...

220/222 .581 114LSA This is the one that i have and i love it. The only thing i wish is that it had a little bit bigger lope. But when i originally bought this cam i was using the truck as my daily driver. This cam is perfect for a daily driver. It has a nice lope to it.
