Hey y'all.....

I got lucky and found this forum just in time. I live in Spokane, WA and just picked up a 1994 Chevy Silverado 1500 Ex. Cab 4x4 5 spd. It has 225k on it, and I think it should get a fresh motor.

The thing is, I found a local guy with an LT1 out of a 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood, with 94k on it. He wants to sell it to me for $1000, and it includes everything (computer, wire harness, top & bottom ends, even exhaust if I want it).

Has anyone performed this kind of conversion? Is there anything I should know about a Cadillac to Chevy swap? Please let this "noob" know...lol

    Thanks for having me here!

    Welcome

Save the money and buy a Gen3 engine. There aren't as many performance parts for the LT1 as there are for the newer Gen3 engines. The LT1 was a great engine in it's day but the new design is so much more superior IMO. I've had both and love the new engine design. Mine was a 93 Corvette LT1 in a 92 ECSB, the red one in my sig. The LT1 engine never died, it was transplanted into a friend's 89 SCSB truck and runs fine to this day.

Hey I live in Everett, nice to have some other people from WA here. I agree with everyone here get an LSx based motor. The 6.0s will run you a bit more than that, but you will save it all in upgrades and rebuilding you would've had to perform on the LT1.
