    i have a 4.8 automatic in my truck and was woundering if it would be worth swaping a 5 speed in it

    if your gonna go throuh the trouble ya may as well do a 6 speed,its alot tougher and probably easier to find,not to mention 2 overdrives.

    Put a 6 speed in it.
    You can buy a shifter conversion kit from keislerauto.com, which will allow you to use the factory shifter hole in the floorboard.
    They are a blast in a truck

    He doesn't have the hole in the floor because he is running an auto right now. I would agree that you should go for the 6 speed because you are going to be happier in the long run with it. Although then you are going to need a different rear gear.....
