I sometimes wish I would have never gotten the bite for diesel performance but also I have met a ton of ultra cool guys and its a ton of fun. Granted diesel performance is retarded expensive.

Yeah local tuners are pretty nice to have, I like Robs tunes but would love to have someone I trust to tinker with my DD, I am almost to the point of doing it myself, just some more confidence and time to datalog and I will be playing with my tuning.

You have to run higher compression to make the cylinders hotter to compress the air and fuel to ignite. A gas engine uses a spark to ignite the air fuel.
The more air fuel you compress in a diesel the more power you will make, but you have to watch your exhaust temp sp you don't melt pistons.
See I know a little about diesels.
I have a 94 extsb 1/2 ton, yes 1/2 ton Chevy turbo diesel. It runs great for what it is. It gets 20mpg on the highway and 15mpg in the city.
With new common rail diesels how you pop slugs is over fueling with enough air... too much air will snuff out a diesel motor and more air = lower EGT's. Diesels like lean conditions.

Poor injection event timing and post fueling causes higher egt's and subsequently higher drive pressures for your turbo and that in turn pops HG's.

I love the diesel I just wish it wasn't so fk'n expensive to do anything to them

In my opinion, diesels are bad ass. A gas burner is not going to be anywhere near the tow rig a diesel is. Each one has their purposes. I think diesels are super impressive especially for how heavy they are. Come on man.... 150-200 HP from a handheld or efi smoke free is super impressive. I love my gas burner tons, but if I had the extra cash for a duramax, there is no doubt in my mind that I would own one before a gas burner unless I really wanted to just go fast. Once again, I love my gas burner, but diesels do not suck by any means, and people saying they do need to pull their head out of their a** and STOP BEING BIASED! After all, it is still a
