This is kind of experimental just to see if I felt any gains or not. The concept is the same as any other cold air intake - the more you can get to the engine, the better.

So I put two "collectors" in place of the tow hooks...


The drivers side one has an elbow which hopefully pushes the incoming air smoothly around to join the air from the passengers side "collector"...


The passengers side "collector" runs straight back to a "T" where the air from the drivers side meets up with it, then a series of elbows sends it up into the stock air box...



Maybe it's my imagination, maybe the ported throttle body is getting a little better each day, but mid- to top-end feels GOOD. I imagine there's quite a bit of air being pushed through the two 4" openings. I would have to think there would be SOME improvement over the stock intake location (through the fenderwell!?)...

Anyway, I didn't get too crazy painting it yet and yes, it has some slight give so it's not quite centered, but if I decide to keep it, I'll make it look a little prettier.
