Fuel Lines: The stock fuel lines will not work with the new motor, you will need

2 EAR-165056ERL -6 - 5/16 AN to tubing connectors Male end
2 EAR-165006ERL -6 - 3/8 AN to tubing connectors Male end

2 RUS-658490 1 ft sections of pre assembled 5/16 Steel braided hose with female ends

[/b]

does that ^ say that I need 2 of each of those parts listed? like 2 5/16 male end connectors, 2 3/8 male end connectors, and 2 1ft sections of the 5/16 steel braided hose?

I did a 92 and a 93. TRTTurbo did a 93. LS1Nica did an OBS 4.3 swap but I can't remember his year model. MOTOXLIFER also has an OBS Gen3 that I believe was a V6 in a previous life.

I have a couple more questions about that steel braided hose and those connections. The 5/6 and 3/8 fittings slip onto the intake manifold, how exactly do they stay tightend on there? Isnt the fuel system under alot of pressure? And then as far as the fittings that go onto the fuel lines from the 4.3, once you cut them, will they stay on their as well?

There is a lock built onto the line. It just presses on but you need a tool to remove it.

Summary of my 4.3 to 5.3 swap

Here is some of the questions I had way before the installation of the 5.3
http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/v8-co...5-my-swap.html

Here is the thread I created with pictures to go along with the process of swapping the 4.3 out.
http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/pics-...cont-pics.html

First of all, this is probably one of the easiest swaps from a v6 to v8, I thought. The only thing I wanna stress is that make you have EVERYTHING, you need. I mean everything. I expected this to take me no longer than 4-5 days, ended up being 3 weeks because I was under prepared as far as parts were concerned for this swap.

Taking the 4.3 engine out is pretty simply. I got it out in a day. I didn't have to take off really any accessories other than the AC compressor, only because that doesnt work on the 5.3 at all. When removing the 4.3, make sure you plug up the transmission lines, and other various openings on the engine and body of the truck so that no dirt or debris gets in their.

When installing the 5.3 make sure you buy/get both frame and engine mounts from another 1/2 ton.

The big red battery cable as well as the negative cable from the 4.3 with not work. Or at least the piece of plastic that bolts to the bottom of the truck doesnt work. You can just take them apart individually and then use them, well thats what I did.

Here are some part numbers, all of this is for a 5.3:
Engine Temp Sensor - 10368798
Dipstick Tube - 12563918
Radiator Hose - 15792821
Rear Oil Pan Bolts (2) - 12561387

Ill add more when I come across it.

I have a 98 sierra...will all this information apply to that truck if I was wanting to do a swap from a v6 to an ls1?? Also its a 5spd now and I want to go with the 60e trans...is there a parts list anywhere that shows whats needed for the trans swap??
