Got a little more done. I may redo the dash since there are a couple of gaps I dont like, but here is what it looks like now.
It would have been really tight to fit all 6 gauges in the cluster. I wanted the right angle so there would not be any glare, so I only put 4 in.
The red buttons are to program the gauges; blinkers, high beam indicator, and check engine light.

Pulled the motor and tranny Saturday. Also got the exhaust and some other b.s. that I wont need out of the way. Very dirty engine bay to start with. We half ass sat an old 5.3 long block in just to see how much room we were going to have. Its tight in a few places, but it looks like the only real challenge will be headers.

Nasty. Looks like someone needs some scrubbing bubbles.

Greg. there is a little crossmember we took off to check for room and we had to take a putty knife to get to the bolts. THinking about taking it to work and using the steam cleaner on it.

that would be a nice way to clean it, for sure. I would do it if I had access to the steam cleaner/powerwasher. Beats the crap out of trashing out the garage cleaning it up.
