the came mentioned in your list would work well with what you have since youre set on the 5.3 heads i ran a simular setup but with a 224 cam and it made just over 400 rwhp only difference i was on a lq9. so youre cr should be right in the ball park of 11.1 maybe
    Simple: 408 on steroids!

Clint, go big or go home. Plenty of people drive theirs daily with bigger cams than that.

I run a TSP 224R an milled 5.3 heads on a stock bottom end LS1 an had no piston to valve problems, 11.1 cr. Nice choppy idle with the 112 LSA and plenty of power for a jeep LJ

Dink runs a 232/234 in an LQ4 with 243 heads and has no problems.

    need some info

i am getting ready to do a LQ9 swap in to my 97 gmc and i was wondering what type of cam and heads should i run i am looking to gain about 500 horse if possible but i want to do it on a budget but still make some great power... i think the LQ9 has domed toped pistons.... see my brother just put his motor back in his gto and its a ls1 with set of ported and polished heads and a cam matched to the heads i think it has a 600 duration cam with 112 cam lobe seperation and has the ls7 lifters and push rods and valve springs with the ls1 rocker arms. i new to the ls motors... i am use to the L31 vortech motors which is what i have in the truck for now untill i can get everything together to get the truck done....
Cold air intake, 1 chamber flowmasters, cats gutted with o2 sims, shorty edlebrock creamic coated junk headers, weld racing wheels, cowl hood and 3.42s with L31 5.7 for right now and i just got done redoing the headlights, parklights, sidemarker, taillight, and the third brake light with the VHT Nightshades look totally different but still good...
