Look what the brown Santa brought yesterday.

I can't find a shop anywhere around me that does mandrel bent exhaust...there is one that says on there website that they do, but I wasn't able to contact them because they are closed on weekends. I don't have a welder or I would just order some bends and do it myself. So my question is how nessicarry is it to have mandrel bent tubing for the exhaust? I know a smooth flow is optimal and the crush bends create turbulence and turbulence creates restriction and restriction loses power. For a cam'd 5.3 with single 3" exhaust is it really gonna cause that much restriction?

I know I could most likely order the bends and take it to a shop and have them build the system, but that's probably gonna be pricey and obviously budget is a concern.

You aren't going to notice enough of a difference to matter. Not worth the $$$ IMO.

Summit racing has some 3" SS tailpipe kits. I've bought them and they are nice. I have one of their 4" diesel pipes on my truck right now coming from the turbo. I would have gone 5" but it was more than double the price of the 4" kit.

Was yours a universal kit Greg? I'll have to take a look on the site and see what I can find out.

I'm still on the fence about ordering one of them or just gong with a local shop for now. I may order the kit from summit a little later and finish out the last few things I have been wanting with the exhaust like adding the v-band joints at the collectors and welding up the joints in the ORY.
