the 5.3 can be made into a 382 if needed.

thats an older 5.3 isnt it? pre 02?
whats needed to make a 5.3 a 382? Or for that matter, what can a LS1 be stroked to? I just happen to have a 5.3 and a LS1 (LS1 has a bad bearing it seems) just sitting around.

Traction control trucks had DBW, also some tahoe/subs' had DBW

look up for example SPoolin on PT.net and his Kermit. his i believe is a 01 that had traction control with DBW
    2002 Lightning - GT headed 5.5Litre w/ Twin 7665s
    2002 Silverado - 427Lsx w/ Twin gt4202s
    2010 Silverado crewcab Z71 - 5.3litre w/ procharger
    2000 Wrangler - 5.3litre with some stance
    2014 Xsport- 3.5 Eco boost
    412 Motorsports

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

Looks like you know your stuff. I just looked up the PCM and its for a 2001-2002. The number on the PCM is 12200411. The guy I got the engine from told me it was out of a Tahoe but he is not sure of the year. Well the PCM at least narrows it down to either 2001 or 2002

Well I'm going take you guys advice and use it in my 55 Chevy Truck. I just purchased some books to learn about these engines, so I will be doing a lot of reading. I don't like nothing stock so I will be checking out how I can put some attitude in this little engine.

10 over your ls1 and use a 4" crank with correct pistons

4.8/5.3 is same setup. take to 3.9 bore and use 4" crank

I can pretty much fab anything so I'm not worried bout Anything, I'm just at a learning curve on the new tech stuff.lol My brain needs an upload with this LS stuff. I also have a 55 Chevy Sedan that has a 454 thats fuel injected, but I always wanted an LS1 in that baby. So I will cut my teeth on the 5.3 and maybe the Sedan will get that LS1 after all. I love the way that engine looks.

Also does any GM drive by wire pedal work or do I have to look for a certain year? Thats the only think I did not get with the engine

That's SWEET. I like the IFS too.
BTW, if you haven't found a pedal yet you should know that you can use any pedal from 00-05 with your 02 TAC.
