Got the swap done on mine and I have a ABS and service brake system light on now. SS Wrecker, did you have this problem?

If you swapped to a different gear ratio, than updating the tune will take care of the abs, service brake system issue.

Really, how does the computer know that its a different ratio? I swapped from 3.23 to 3.73. There is no sensor that plugs into the axle, can anyone explain? Also does anyone know what I'll have to do to use the parking brake. I don't want to pull my drums apart to get the parking brake cable out, and my new axle didn't come with the cables for the discs.

with the different gears, the whole drive-train is spinning at a different ratio than what the pcm is programmed for. So the pcm doesn't know why the speed sensors are sending the eratic signals.
Hope that kind of explains it for you, was not sure how to word it.

I understand that. I'll have to call Nelson Monday to get another PCM shipped out with the correct ratio. Thanks for the explanation! Now all I need is to figure out the parking brake.

been a long time coming, but today I got the axle swap more than half done. I need longer U-bolts to bolt the leaf spring packs to the axle housing, I need a different rear U-joint, I need to get calipers and pads, I need to get e-brake cables, I need to recalibrate the speedometer, and more. But the springs and shocks matched right up just fine, and the driveshaft doesn't need shortened. If anything, it's now a half inch shorter, relatively speaking. The spring pads on the housing are at least an inch taller than before.
I'll try to get pics up as soon as I can.

Well, you can now see that I got the U-bolts. I had them made locally. I'm still waiting on a lot of stuff, but more pics are coming. Any questions, feel free to ask.
