Yeah, my 92 had a 5.7L LT1 from a 93 Corvette in it and I reused the stock 5 speed that came with the original V6. The engine is in my buddy's 1990 truck these days and still is bad-A!

I don't remember having to remove the slave cylinder, its easy to drop it out of the way if its in your way, just remove two nuts and off it comes. Its been quite a while since I worked on the 5 speed but its not rocket science.

Yeah and now that you mention it being mounted on studs the fluid line does not need disconnected either.
You guys were right about not having to removing the slave cylinder. I took the starter to O'Reilly for them to test and it worked that time. I am still going to replace the starter/solenoid. I appreciate everyones suggestions and help. I have a LT1 and 4L60E in my 34 Ford Vic.
