Well figure this, if you don't build what you have, you're going over budget.
A forged engine, $5000, heads, $1500, intake setup $1000, fuel system $1500, good headers $900, exhaust $500.
That's already over $10k if you figure shipping and misc items you can't account for.
So , now you have an engine, what about rearend, traction, transmission, cooling.
You can buy a 6L, head , cam it, 175shot, now you have over a 650hp engine for a lot less that is going to beat just about anything your run against.
