Sounds like a good excuse to change to a quality LSD. You've beat the snot out of that one long enough and its time to put it out to pasture. If your truck was 2wd you would have shattered it long ago with the power you're making. Make sure there are no chunks in the pumpkin if you're going to drive it until Cody comes up.

    I don't have G80 either....LOL

There is no sealer or sealant needed for any of them and no additive for any of them either. That's an old school need.

Buy the proper $30 per liter GM stuff.

So no RTV? just pop it off, drain the fluid, kind of clean it out, put it back on and refill it?

No sealer. Clean off the old gasket and use a new one. Some of the larger older axles have sealer and no gasket. A 10-bolt has a gasket and sealer makes a mess.

Silicone is incompatible with synthetic oils. It won't be long before it starts leaking if you use it. Get the paper gasket.

OK so some are saying no gaskey, rtv, and some are saying yes. Is the gasket on there ok? Just pull it off and reuse it? I mean Ill most likely be replacing the posi in a week or two.

i never even use a gasket and doesnt ever leak ,no offense red.right stuff works for me .i was def talking if no gasket,gg.if you have a good or new gasket you probly dont need sealer, but i use it even if i have a gasket.either way ittl be fine.
