If it's an R 350 (stock type) timing is not adjustable by turning the HVS like an old distributor. Timing can only be changed in the 'puter. Twisting the HVS will only throw off the CMPS and the offset.

If that's what you meant in the question, I apologize.

lets do a refresher here for ya.
you guys must suffer from some sort of long or short term memory loss.
bottom line is asked for help GasGuzzler made a nice attempt,Zeake you was saying "take it some where and pay someone some money,to figure it out".
    thats not a option.
so back to the point before i was rudely interrupted,by what seems to be a few post whores!!!
my truck has been having some detonation issues,i asked Nelson and he gave me some options to work with.
i believe my problems is the cats and o2 sensors.
things are erratic with the truck, so thats my conclusion,to my problems with my truck
    thanks

I think Allen thought you were asking an HPT tuning question. I only tried to explain the timing is not mechanically adjustable. Because now we're left to think you don't have HPT or other tuning software, the next best option is to have it professionally scanned...this is what zeake was suggesting while trying to help.

Let us know how it goes....in a kind manner.
