sounds good, for shorty headers. the extra piping makes a difference because just straight open shorties sound kinda junky. im sure its totally different on ls motors though, they sound a lot higher pitch/tiny so idk how it would sound on the newer trucks.

My truck runs way better with the cutout... then again I have to uncap mine and only open it at the track, I have a 3600 converter so I dont notice the loss on the low end.
I stock cammed LQ9 is only loud with the cutouts open. Sorry Rick, no offense. Loud doesn't equal power or GOOD sound. When cars runs 8's in the 1/4 mile through mufflers anyone's truck that is actually a DD sounds kindawith open exhaust. Be loud if you want to, that's anyone's choice for sure. If you gain a lot of RWHP on the rollers or a lot of ET at the track with them open, it's time for a new exhaust system and more likely new mufflers, not a cut-out.
I am not saying it sounds good, I hate the way my exhaust sounds right now. There are leaks and it muffles, I am going to get it re done when I get LT. The cutouts sound cool, and get attention when cruising down the road.

you guys are pretty narrow minded huh? if its not this or that it doesn't sound cool. of course it will sound way better with long tubes and a cam, but that doesn't make it sound gay otherwise.
