I got some work done on wednesday. I started to swap out the truck intake for the LS1 intake (Thanks Trtturbo!!!!!). I started with the fuel rails & injectors, removed all the 8mm's and the few 10mm's there were. Then I removed the throttle body and other misc. plugs. Pulled the intake off and boouuughghghgh, dirty all around the ports, but not where it sealed which was good. I then cleaned off around the ports so it was down to shiny aluminum! Then I compared the intakes and started looking on the shop's NAPA Prolink to see if I could get what I needed. I was able to get the intake gaskets and throttle body gasket from NAPA (TB gasket was, I think $8 bucks our cost and intake gaskets were $21 something our cost.). Sadly the intake bolts I had to order from the stealership, and I mean STEALERSHIP. There's 10 bolts, as many of you know, all of which have their own built on grommet thingy's, well anyway, $3.10 A PIECE!!! 30 bucks just in bolts, that I found rediculous, but whatever, I needed them and couldn't find 'em on eBay so I ordered 'em.
All those should be here on Tuesday so I can finish it next week.
I'm gonna have to end up cutting the fuel rail cross-over thing because it's the same height as the stock intake which would defeat the purpose of this whole swap. If anyone's got a camaro fuel rail with a feed and return line let me know, thanks.
Here's some pics of what I got done! (my camera has issues so sorry for the yellow-ish end pics)
