damn 1 off lol....then it would raise compression if the 853's are a smaller combustion chamber, not by much but it would do it

1 point of compression is worth 20hp...you may get 5hp from switching the heads....unless you do what he said and get the ported and polished

Its not worth the trouble of swapping heads unless you get some nice ported ones and while you are at it bump the compression up. The best budget heads out there right now are the patriots, I think TRT has a set for sale now for 700 or 800 bucks which is a damn good deal. With those and milling them to get you around 11:1CR you would probably drop an additional 4 tenths and gain 3-4mph.

yes, but by the time you get all you need, they are not nearly as good of a deal as the Patriots. Patriots come complete, bases, seals, titanium retainers, and locks for $230

Patriots all the way for the price not to mention Gunner is a straight forward guy at Patriot. Stay away from the Manleys........I've broke them and so have my friends. PRC's are just as good but a little more money.

oops i was thinking it would drop the compression on a 5.3...it will raise it on a lq9 but the swap wouldnt be worth it unless you have the 853's ported because the 317's flow great for a stock head.

Gunnar at patriot is awesome. i went from 105mph to 110mph with their heads which is considerable this far into the game. times went from 12.49 to 12.19 with the heads being the only mod.

    old mod list: H/C/I/N/E/G 408
new mod list: 5.3, gears/posi, mufler and tune : (
