I've always wondered how the "reverse" cowl hoods manage to get air into the engine bay.

There is a high pressure zone at the base of the windshield when driving. They showed it in a wind tunnel once. It's hard to believe but it's there. You can put a hose from a boost gauge there and see the need move positive while you drive.

The cowl hoods actually do a better job of pressurizing the intake than most designs with forward facing scoops.

Just dont get the air dam please.

And dont waste your money on a granatelli MAF waste of money I felt a loss in low end and no gain up top when my truck was close to stock.

wouldnt the MAF give a lil better flow? btw the MAF is something ill be getting free, not paying $300 for. i plan on going with a painted bumper pad and THIS VALANCE.

I'll probably use this air dam with a smoothed and painted bumper pad.

I really like the functional/flapper cowl hood. That just screams "old school Chevy muscle." I put a Goodmark 442 style R/A hood on our '91 Silverado a few years back. It fit nicely, for the most part, but definitely required some finish work before it was ready for paint. If you don't mind the extra work, that'd be my choice.

    I like this one:

    New project truck:

    '00 ECSB 4wd, 5.3, 3" body lift, gap guards, 18x9 Moto Metal 951's, 305/60/18 Mickey Thompson MTZ's

To-do list: Built rear end, 6.0 swap with built top end, 4L80e, and a couple bottles in the bed.
