After doing a lot of research and reading on this forum and performancetrucks.net, I think I've come to a decision.

I'm doing custom front mount twins, and have already bought my twin garrett t04B turbos (new in box, awesome deal on the pair from an individual who bought them and never used them). I'll use a small front mount intercooler and pre-bent mandrel pipe sections for piping, putting the IC in the lower valance hole in my denali's bumper. At the very least I'll run water injection, and perhaps methanol.

I'll run a blowoff valve, twin HKS 40mm wastegates, 3" downpipes all the way back to twin magnaflow mufflers and matching dual outlets. Running the downpipes shouldnt be too hard, but the passenger side looks like it might be tight with the a/c stuff in the way. If I wanted to be really cheap about it, I could use 2 more header flanges and keep my existing stock exhaust, and just make the downpipe go between the turbo and the stock downpipe.

I'm currently building an rx-7 for myself and once that is done I can dick around with the truck, it is my daily driver right now.

When I get the chance, I'm going to pull the stock manifolds off and see if it's possible to flip them and use them as a starting point for turbo headers. All I'd need would be a header weld flange, some piping bends (enough to mount the wastegates into and position the turbos), a round to oval adaptor pipe, and my t4 turbo flanges. IF for some reason this doesnt work I can simply buy the LS head flanges off ebay and some pipe bends, and tack up a custom turbo header, then take it to my welder.

Running the oil drains for the twins looks like it'll be the biggest bitch, because the oilpan has to come off for the fittings to be installed, and since I have a Denali, I have to drop the front shaft and diff. While positioning the turbos, I plan to explore the remote possibility that the turbo oil drains could be routed into the valve covers, which would kick SO much ass and save a lot of time and effort.

Now, here's the kicker. Counting buying the turbos, doing the oil plumbing, the piping (whether or not I have to make my own turbo headers or just adapt the stock manifolds), the wastegates, BOV, FMIC and piping, the rest of the exhaust, I can pay for all of that PLUS pay for my computer tuning and fuel injectors all for about the same as the cost of JUST the pipes mentioned above. Just the friggen PIPES, not the turbo, wastegate, etc. that cost extra with the other kit!!

Hell, I should be FAR below the cost of the complete hot-kit from either trick or sts, both of which leave you needing intercooling, water/meth injection, injectors and tuning.

Oh, and I won't have any right angles in my airflow path either, whether or not it really makes a difference. I do agree to a certain point that power can be made regardless of this aspect, but why not design something as high dollar and high power, as well as you possibly can. By you guys' logic of "ah, it's good enough like it is", everyone should live in trailer parks that cost the same as brick houses, because, well, they're "good enough" too.

The GM exhuast flanges are almost 1/2" thick, made of steel and are about $20 each. Great price, blanchard ground flat and thick. Great price unless you want/need stainless.

I almost went the same direction (fabbing turbo headers) - I'm sure it will kick serious ass, do post pics as you build.
