well, it's the price you'll pay to be first haha. You could go 6.0 and stay safe and be like everyone else, that's what I did. I think the 6.0 swap is nice because people have at least done a few of them and it's not like your gonna have a question no one knows the answer to. There's a little information about the 6.0 swaps out there to help you but it's not so common that its gonna bore people when seeing what your doing. My rcsb is one of a handful I've ever read of especially 4.3 to 6.0 swapped to 6.0 so I wouldn't say my swap is common yet.

don't be arrogant, these swaps are a dime a dozen.

the swap that ISNT in an obs is a 408+ w/the l92 heads intake package with a monster cam. only 3-4 to my knowledge (may not be as deep of a pool as some peoples, but i doubt there are many setups like that) that setup with the right cam would rev very nicely while still having the displacement needed for good power, im also guess ing that with some research into the cam you could flatten out the tq curve very nicely

07 yukon denalis come with a 380 horse version of the 6.2l and the caddilac escalades come with a 403 horse version. What the difference is between the two i dont know. Probably just tuning. I know that GM is working on a supercharged 6.2 called the ls9 and is supposed to make 600hp or so. If you could get the 6.2 in your truck and then later after the ls9 comes out you could find you a supercharger and put it on there since it will have a compatable intake for the l92 heads. I would go with a 6l85e though versus the t-56 cause i would tear the crap out of a t56 in a 4x4 and also your shifter will be almost under the seat. Things you might want to think about.

I am planning the L92 swap as well but with an LSx doner engine. 418 stroker L92 shortblock. Anywho how are you planning on putting the 4wd transfer case on a T56? As far as I know it cant be done, or without some serious mickey mouse modding...

Would have to build your own adapter for the t-case. They are doing it over on the syclone site.

But yes, probably a lot of mickey mouse involved.

What would it take to hook up an old NVG 3500 to that?[/b]
Methinks you'd be looking for a new trans after the first time you dropped the hammer. They used 3500's in Jeep 6-cylinders making ~200hp.
