Thanks. I just need to get the stall in. At 119mph on the quarter i should be runnig 13.5ish. Not 14.2.
well see in a couple of weeks. After 200-300ft it pulls like a Bat out of Hell. It even breakes the tires loose at that time for a couple of seconds. Thanks.

Ran one on the way home in the Baby SS...Hey, he pulled out in front of me and tried to speed off but I waited till we came out of the curve ( a long sweeper) he was pushing it so I paced him up to about 95 then when the coast was clear and we were almost out of the curve I dropped down to 4th and hammered it... smoked by him at 120 like he was tied up...I let out and let him catch back up then smoked him again for the hell of it. The wife didn't say anything but she was pissed like me for the guy pulling out in front of us from a side road, didn't even stop for the stop sign and there was nothing behind us so he could have easily waited...pissed me off big time...

I feel sorry for the powerchoke dudes cause they have more problems than they know what to do with. They need to quit spending money trying to go fast and spend it on trying to keep the damn truck running. I get paid all day to replace headgaskets, injectors, turbos, sensors, high pressure oil pumps, and engines. Then i use the money to make my truck faster. HAHA loosers! When they are running right they can haul ass though, especially for a 9000lb. 4x4 truck.

the way the turbos work on those are cool though because they use Variable geometry turbos that have a oil controled solenoid that controls vanes on the exhaust side to regulate the speed and boost of the turbo.

anyway, powerchokes still suck, however in january the new 6.4l powerchokes will be out with twin turbos so maybe those will have something to offer, but my guess is that they will suck dick for rock, just like the 6.0

Yeah, I've got one of the 6.0L powerstroke turbos on my shelf. Its definitely a cools setup to spool the turbos up fast at low rpms. I bought this one thinking about doing a turbo setup on the old 5.7L engine. Now that I've gone 408ci it's just another pretty part sitting on the shelf.

If you can keep the exhaust side from rusting and the vanes from sticking its not a bad set up. I was thinking of doing the same set up with my truck but i dont know anything about turbos what so ever. like what the A/R is or what turbo would be too big for my truck. I dont know how i would control the turbo vanes other than an electonicly controled solenoid that uses a boost sensor that control the VGT duty cycle. I tried to turn up the the turbo on one of the new trucks and the computer wont let you turn it up past 85% duty cycle. Supposedly those turbos are good for 35lbs. of boost with an agressive aftermarket programer and a high flow exhaust.

At 119MPH you should be in the 11's not 13's! My 12.6 run was 107MPH. My 13.7 runs at 99MPH. Must be traction problems!

Jeff,

Oops, I meant 109mph not 119mph, Yea, its traction, but not at first. I have a stall problem, but it will soon be fixed. Atfer about 250-300 ft, I can feel the back end get kind of squirrelly for a few seconds. The tires are just street tires, but some slicks are coming soon. I think high 12 with the few mods that I have coming. I may need to look at new parts for the trans soon, maybe a low 1st like in the 4L60-65E? I don't know just yet. I 'll take it one mod at a time right now.

With the power you are creating and more on the way, 80 is the only answer IMHO.
