<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(trtturbo @ Jul 10 2006, 10:40 PM) </div>wanna make me some mounts that will work? 300 bucks ill give u if u can get her in and mounted right! also why wouldnt the gauges work???I was under the impression that the 6.0 should bolt right in a nbs truck since the 4.8, 5.3 do. Should it not be just a matter of having the right mounts?
I'd be very curious to know the ins and outs of doing this swap.
My '04 v-6 truck may get a make over under the hood.
Are you going to try and make the factory gauges and everything else work?

I'm not saying the gauges wont work as I have not had to do a swap like this. That would be great if everything just plugged in. I will be following this in hopes of getting more new info. If its just a matter of 6.0, harness, pcm and install, I'm all over that for my truck.
As far as the mounts, unless its changed, the 4.3 has mounts just like an older sbc. We have adapter plates that mount to the genIII block and have sbc mounting holes also. I'll post pics when I get to work.

Did you or did you not use the motor mount adapter plates?
Well after reading your post and looking at the pics in LS1 conv. I think I understand what kind of problems your having now. Looks like you either need to shim the mounts to raise the motor up or like Red said it is sitting unlevel and the trans. needs to sit lower.

What i beleive we need to do is shim the mount up so that the oil pan no longer touches. I believe that will work. Ill need to go get some flat inch flat iron out in the shop and just cut the patern of the boltholes in the motor right?? Or just used individual shimes for each bolt?Did you or did you not use the motor mount adapter plates?

There is a sketch on here somewhere that shows you how to make the plates out of 1/4" plate steel. It has all the dimensions, too.
BTW, we discussed this once before.![]()
